Specially designed for the digital camera. From compacts to the most advanced DSLR. this workshop is suitable for any camera and any level of experience.
Set in the World Heritage site of the Ironbridge Gorge. With a vast amount and range of subject matter you will discover what it takes to capture stunning B&W images.
Black & White photography is a genre that requires a totally different approach from your standard colour photography.
Because we see in colour, we identify the subjects we wish to photograph because of their colourful qualities. This is how our eyes and brain are programmed.
To take a successful B&W photograph. we need to train our brains to identify attributes that will stand out without the need for colour. such as contrast in texture, shape, line & form.
During this one day workshop we will start to develop your photographs eye to identify what will make a good Black & White Photography

Could I take this opportunity also to thank you again for the great day on Sunday. Your unique mix of helpful critique, encouragement and technical hints and tips really helped, and I feel that I came away from the day a lot wiser and more confident than I arrived. I’m now walking through the world looking at things in black and white, and my enthusiasm for this genre of photography is greatly re-enforced. The location at The Greenwood Centre and surrounding areas was also a joy to work within, providing a huge range of texture, shape and form (and people!) to play with, and all within an easy walk with tea and ice-cream thrown in!. I very much hope to be able to join you again on one of your future workshops later in the year and look forward to meeting you again then.

Terms & Conditions
for workshops of one full day or less
Payment in full is required for a Workshop or Course description of one day or less at the time of booking and must be be paid online or sent with a completed booking form. ??
Any cancellation by the client must be made in writing, The date on which the letter is received by us will determine the cancellation charges applicable. Less than 4 weeks to departure point 100%: (no refund given).Between 4 weeks to 8 weeks before departure date 75% . Over 8 weeks notice Full refund excluding deposit. These charges are expressed as a percentage of the total tour price, ?
The receipt of a deposit does not imply acceptance of a booking. We will confirm our acceptance of your booking in writing, and it is at the time we send out this confirmation that a contract comes into existence between us. An administration charge of £25 will be made for alterations or amendments to a booking. The transfer of a booking from one tour to another, if made more than 4 weeks days prior to departure, will also incur a fee of £25. The intention to transfer should be notified in writing, At 4 weeks or less before departure cancellation fees will also apply (see clause 3 above). ?
Go Explore Photography and Mr Garreth Anderson reserves the right to alter or cancel any Workshop or course. Should an alteration or cancellation become necessary, Due to poor weather or reasons beyond our control. you will then have the choice of taking an alternative dates
Under booking if the situation in which the minimum number of bookings required to run a tour is not met, and if we have to cancel a tour for this reason, we will not do so less than 24 hours prior to the start time of the course or workshop. Force majeure is unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, such as war or the threat of war, riots, terrorist activity, civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood or adverse weather conditions. Alternative dates will be offered. ?
In the event of the specified tutor being unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances beyond our control, another tour leader will be provided. If this is not possible, then the holiday will be cancelled and a full refund will be given ?
We reserve the right to change any of the prices, service or other particulars contained on this website at any time before we enter into contract with you. If there is any change, we will notify you before we enter into such contract. ?
If you have special dietary or other requests, you should inform us of these prior to departure. We will advise the relevant supplier of your requirements, but we cannot guarantee that such requests will be met, and will have no liability to you if such requests are not met. ?
The type of workshops & Courses we offer requires flexibility and must allow for alternatives. For this reason the outline itinerary and description must be taken as an indication of what may take place on the workshop or course, and not as a contractual obligation on the part of the company. ?
Go Explore Photography and Garreth Anderson does not accept liability for any loss or additional expense caused by delay or interruption to travel services through weather conditions, civil disturbance, industrial action, strikes, wars, floods or sickness. Such losses or additional expenses are the responsibility of the passenger. ?
Go Explore Photography and Garreth Anderson accepts responsibility for acts and /or omissions of its employees (whilst acting in the course of their employment). The Company does not accept responsibility or liability for death, bodily injury or illness caused to the client or any other person included on the booking form, unless arising from the negligent act and/or omission of the Company’s employees (whilst acting in the course of their employment). Any claims shall be subject to English law in respect of any question of liability or quantum, and all proceedings shall be within the exclusive domain of the English courts. ?
The client must communicate any perceived failure in the performance of this contract on the spot to the tour leader thus giving the tour leader the opportunity to achieve a satisfactory solution. Should this not be possible, you should make your complaint known to us in writing within 28 days of the completion of the holiday. ?
It is a term of the contract between us that you will obtain the appropriate travel insurance cover before you set out on the holiday (whether abroad or in this country). The insurance must cover the loss, expenses and damages arising from, including but not limited to, the cancellation of the holiday (whether in whole or in part), personal accident and injury, medical and repatriation costs (for overseas holidays), loss of baggage and personal money and belongings and flight cancellations and delays. ?
For overseas and international travel All clients must be in possession of a valid passport and all visas, permits and certificates, including medical certificates required for the whole of the journey and the client accepts responsibility for obtaining the same. All information and advice given by us on visas, vaccinations, climate, clothing, baggage, special equipment etc is given in good faith. ?
In the unlikely event that we become unable to provide a significant proportion of the services you have booked after you depart, we will make alternative arrangements for you at no extra charge, or if this is impossible, we will provide you with transport back to the point of departure from your holiday destination, and a pro rata refund for the cost of the remainder of your holiday. In addition, if appropriate, we will pay you compensation of an amount which is reasonable taking into account the circumstances, and which is not covered by the terms of your own travel insurance as per clause 16 above. ?
